Closing Ceremony of the Capacity Building Seminar for Executives of the Gabon National Investment Promotion Agency (ANPI-GABON) Tunis, from the 15th to the 26th of July 2019

A closing ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency, FIPA-Tunisia, on Friday, 26th July 2019, following a two-week capacity-building program for executives of the Gabon National Investment Promotion Agency (ANPI-GABON).

The ceremony was enhanced by the presence of His Excellency Mr. Emily KAKALA NGOUSSI, Ambassador of Gabon to Tunisia; Mr. Abdelbasset GHANMI, Director General of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA-Tunisia), and Mr. Elborni SALHI, Director General of the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation (ATCT).

This training session for executives of ANPI-Gabon builds on a program organised as part of the BADEA institutional support - the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa - - and conducted in close collaboration between FIPA -Tunisia and ATCT.

The seminar, which was held from Monday, 15th July to Friday, 26thJuly, helped equip ANPI Gabon executives with promotional mechanisms and information needed to familiarise them with the Tunisian experience in attracting investment and developing sector-specific policies to attract foreign investment, particularly in agriculture and digitalisation. The seminar also discussed the development of the interface dedicated to investors in the process of creating their project and the current role of the dedicated contact.

The two-week training session included a visit to integrated economic spaces to highlight Tunisia's experience in clustering. In the same vein, the stay of Gabonese executives was also the occasion to visit leading Tunisian companies in the field of innovation.

The Gabonese hosts were mentored by a team of experts working in various fields of interest and operating under pioneering Tunisian structures in the field. These include by way of example: FIPA-Tunisia; the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation, APII; the Agricultural Investment Promotion Agency, APIA; the Export Promotion Centre, CEPEX; the Tunisia Africa Business Council, TABC; Smart Tunisia (a public-private partnership for digital promotion); Small and Medium-Sized Business Financing Bank, BFPME…
