Participation of FIPA-Tunisia in “Tunisia Business Seminar” A Webinar Organized by UNIDO Japan on July 09, 2020

As part of the consolidation of bilateral economic relations between Tunisia and Japan in the post-Covid-19 period, the Tokyo office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization "UNIDO" organized in partnership with " FIPA-Tunisia "and the Embassy of Tunisia in Japan a webinar entitled “Tunisia Business Seminar” on July 09, 2020.

Facilitated by Ms. Minako Shigematsu, Consultant at UNIDO ITPO in Tokyo, this virtual meeting was enhanced by the respective addresses of Mr. Yuko Yasunaga, Head of UNIDO ITPO in Tokyo and of HE Mohamed Elloumi, Ambassador of Tunisia in Tokyo. Subsequently, Mr. Abdelbasset Ghanmi, Director General of FIPA-Tunisia, made a presentation in which he addressed a host of key details relating to the business and investment climate in post Covid-19 Tunisia.

Mr. Ghanmi highlighted through his presentation entitled “Invest in Resilience, Invest in Tunisia” the following points:

- The Tunisian exception in its response strategy to Covid-19 showing resilience and responsiveness ;

- The digital skills and the capacity for innovation which have won Tunisia praise from the international community;

- The country's competitive advantages and its strategic potential in the areas of interest.

This webinar made it possible to organize a discussion panel facilitated by Mr. Ferda Gelegen, General Administrator of UNIDO ITPO in Tokyo and enhanced by the presence of Mr. Naoki Tamaki, General Manager of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation "JBIC".

It should be noted that this online meeting recorded the effective participation of 164 participants.
