AMORIM GROUP

The AMORIM family began producing natural corks in 1870, laying the foundations of what is now the largest Portuguese and global group in the cork sector.

The Portuguese group AMORIM occupies a dominant position on a national and international scale in the field of cork which its core business. However, it has diversified its activity and is operating in key sectors such as real estate, tourism, telecommunications and textile.

Present in all wine producing countries, the Group has internationalized with namely than 31 production units worldwide, 18 industrial units and more than 3,000 employees working cork. Its production is estimated at more than 3 billion caps per year for a turnover of around 270 million €.

In 1996, in the town of Tabarka, the Tunisian subsidiary of the group was founded under the name Cork International. It specializes in the manufacture of caps, disc pads and granulated cork.
