UK - Tunisia Trade & Investment Forum 2018

The Tunisian Embassy in London organised the " UK - Tunisia Trade & Investment Forum 2018” on 10th October 2018, in collaboration with the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency "FIPA" and the Tunisian-British Chamber of Commerce.

This forum is part of the strategy aimed at promoting the opportunities offered by Tunisia to British economic operators in terms of investment and trade. It is also an expression of the readiness of our country to boost bilateral trade and the Tunisian-British partnership which is all the more significant in the perspective of the Brexit. This Forum was the occasion for a Tunisian delegation led by Mr. Slim Feriani, Minister of Industry and SMEs, to meet and exchange with senior officials and influential members of the business community in the United Kingdom.

More than one hundred participants attended the Forum’s activities which included a plenary session devoted to the major changes in the Tunisian economy and its potential, as well as workshops on three sectors with high potential; namely food industry, ICT and Renewable Energies.

Alongside his Excellency the Ambassador of Tunisia in London, senior officials from the Agency for the Promotion of Agricultural Investment "APIA", the Tunisian Investment Authority "TIA ", the Ministry of Industry and SMEs as well as representatives of the private sector took part in this event. This prominent delegation contributed to present a comprehensive overview of the business climate in Tunisia and enhance the debate.

This event was also an opportunity for FIPA-Tunisia Director in London to introduce the British business community to the investment environment and opportunities in Tunisia as well as the new framework and new investment incentives. Particular emphasis was placed on the country's comparative advantages as well as its position as a potential regional platform linking Europe, Africa and the MENA Region.

Finally, it should be noted that this Forum was followed by a business mission in food industry on the 11th and 12th October 2018, organised on by the Tunisian Embassy in London and the Export Promotion Centre, "CEPEX".
