International living 2010: Tunisia ahead of Arab countries in terms of quality of life

Tunisia was ranked for the second year in a row ahead of all Arab countries in terms of quality of life with a score of 59 out of 100 points improving hence its score by three points compared to 2009.

France ranks first worldwide (80 points), followed by Australia (81 points) and Switzerland (81 points). In the Arab world, Tunisia is ranked first, followed by Jordan and Kuwait (55 points), and by Morocco , Lebanon and Bahrain (54 points).

Tunisia is particularly well rated in the categories of safety and risk (86/100), health (73/100), climate (85/100) and the cost of living (63/100).

The countries are ranked according to an index taking into account a series of ratings based on qualitative indicators: cost of living, economy, environment, culture, leisure, liberties, health, infrastructure, risk, security and climate. For each of these criteria, each country is given a score out of 100.
